The Honors Study Topic Guide includes resources devoted to the 2008-2010 Honors Study Topic - The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences - and provides avenues for honors students to enrich their scholarly endeavors with the interdisciplinary exploration of a timely topic and then apply their knowledge as servant leaders in the college and the community. Contributions to the Hites Scholarship Challenge will go toward establishing a $1 million endowment to provide financial assistance to Phi Theta Kappa members in continuing their education. Attention Members: Receive $500 cash back on a new Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury through the College Student Purchase Program. Ford's College Student Purchase Program supports Project Graduation, one of Phi Theta Kappa's community service initiatives. Scholarship Focus: The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation grants The Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships, the most generous scholarships ever offered to graduating community college students. The scholarship awards provide funding for tuition, room and board, books, and other required fees for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar's bachelor's degree, generally two years. Candidates for this scholarship must be nominated by their two-year institution in order to apply. The maximum available per student is $30,000 per year. First or second year community college students planning to continue their education at a two-year institution may be nominated by their college to apply for the $1,000 Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship administered by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
