Boston University’s Metropolitan College Establishes New PTK Scholarship

Boston University’s Metropolitan College (BU MET) in Massachusetts established a new undergraduate transfer scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa members.

BU MET offers 80 academic programs in established and emerging areas of industry, emphasizing practical, hands-on learning you can put to work immediately. They offer bachelor’s, master’s, and graduate certificate degree programs in on-campus and online formats for full-time or part-time students.

Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Boston University’s Metropolitan College is proud to offer the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship to recognize outstanding academic and leadership achievement among PTK members seeking to enroll in a bachelor’s degree completion program.  All applicants who indicate they are PTK members within their application are automatically considered for this award when a completed application is reviewed. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be a US Citizen or permanent US resident and hold an associate’s degree at the time of enrollment at Metropolitan College

Recipients of this annual scholarship will be notified and will receive a 50 percent tuition scholarship for up to 12 credits at Metropolitan College in the fall and spring semester, and up to 8 credits at any BU school during Summer Term (Summer 1 and 2 sessions combined), while they complete their bachelor’s degree at Boston University’s Metropolitan College.  For students entering with 60 transfer credits, the estimated total cost of their degree (consisting of 68 remaining credits) would be $19,060* after the scholarship is applied.  Scholarships are available for applicants to both our online Bachelor of Liberal Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies program or any of our on-campus programs (including our Biology, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Management Studies, Psychology, or Urban Affairs)Those selected will be required submit their PTK membership certificate to verify their status, and upon enrollment at BU must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above in order to continue receiving the tuition benefits of the program.

Are there any special events or deadlines on your recruitment calendar that you would like to share?
