Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention is called PTK Catalyst for a reason. The three-day event is designed to create momentum that leads to change—individually and in the life of your chapter and college.

In the same way PTK is more than just an honor society, Catalyst is more than just a conference. It is an opportunity for you to learn, grow, explore, connect, and so much more. The key? Just like your PTK membership—the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

Not only do I hope to see you in Orlando at Catalyst, I hope to see you making the most of your time there.

Here are just a few things that set PTK Catalyst apart:

Celebrate Good Times (Come on)

Whether you are walking across the stage in the Parade of Scholars, participating in an on-site competition, or being recognized during the Hallmark Awards Gala, PTK Catalyst is all about celebrating the successes of our members, chapter advisors, and colleges. Come ready to make some noise!

Find Your College Fit

If you are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, the PTK Catalyst Transfer Fair, sponsored by Common App, is for you. Talk to recruiters and learn about life at their colleges, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and, of course, scholarships available exclusively for PTK members like you!

Cast Your Ballot

Learn about the International Officer candidates through Q&A sessions, Honors Study Topic speeches, conversations at the Opportunity Expo, and by attending the candidate caucus. Cast your chapter’s vote to elect your next International Officer team.

Learn Something New

Between keynote speakers and educational forums, it’s almost impossible to attend PTK Catalyst without learning something new. This year’s general session speakers include American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Misty Copeland and journalist and former Secret Service Special Agent Evy Poumpouras. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

With topics including advocacy, study abroad, scholarships and financial aid, job interview skills, vision boards, leadership, and time management— you are sure to come away from the Catalyst ed forums with a variety of useful skills and information!

Kick Your Shoes Off

You didn’t think we would have you travel all the way to Orlando, Florida without giving you time to have some fun, did you? We have time built into the schedule for you to have a little fun with your PTK Family. Whether you choose to take advantage of discounted Disney tickets on Friday evening or splish splash at the PTK Pool Hangout, we know that you will have a blast making memories.
