Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.
Here at Allegheny we are dedicated to growing our transfer population. One of our initiatives to do so is by providing a $2,000 specific scholarship for active PTK members.
Are there other transfer scholarships that could be stacked with your Phi Theta Kappa award?
In addition to the new PTK award our transfer students are also eligible for up to $42,000 in merit based aid. We also offer need based scholarships depending on FAFSA data. We are a stackable institution so we will accept almost all scholarships that you bring in!!
In your opinion, what is one of the most impressive things about your college?
We do a lot of impressive things here at Allegheny but there are a few things that make us unique. The first is our major/minor requirement. We require all our students to have both a major and a minor, and we also require that they come from different academic disciplines. The second MOST impressive thing about our campus is the fact that we are the 1st in Pennsylvania and 8th in the nation to achieve carbon neutrality. We are led by award winning sustainability directors!!!
