Noah Brown, Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Education and former President and CEO of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), has been named an International Honorary member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK)., has been named an International Honorary member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK).

This recognition is considered PTK’s highest honor for a non-member. The award is not given every year, but only when the Society identifies an individual who has provided extraordinary support to Phi Theta Kappa. In PTK’s 106-year history, only 47 International Honorary Members have been named.

“If Noah Brown’s years of commitment and service to America’s community college students and the sector at large don’t fit the bill, then I don’t know what does,” said PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner.  “I, along with the other PTK Board of Directors, unanimously and enthusiastically applaud Noah for his support of PTK, its members, and its mission.”

In addition to his time at ACCT and the U.S. Department of Education, Brown has served on the board for Community Colleges for International Development, Inc, National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), and the 21st Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges.

Brown received the award during PTK Catalyst 2024, the Society’s annual convention in Orlando, Florida.
