Leadership and Service

Service is at the core of what Phi Theta Kappa stands for. PTK chapters dive into all kinds of service-learning activities, both within and beyond PTK’s official programs and events. As a member, you’ll quickly see that service isn’t just an add-on—it’s woven into everything we do. It’s how chapters bond, how we build a sense of community, and how you find your place in something bigger than yourself. Get ready to make a difference and feel the impact.

Getting involved in service through Phi Theta Kappa isn’t just about giving back—it’s about personal growth too. By participating in service projects, you’ll develop valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, all while making real connections with your peers.

Leadership is another founding hallmark of Phi Theta Kappa. Yes, you will be given opportunities for leadership roles, but overall, we see leadership not as something you are, but something you do. As a result, leadership permeates all of PTK’s programs.

The College Project is PTK’s most popular chapter program, and its premier leadership program. It is a highly collaborative joint leadership project of the PTK chapter and the college administration. Its purpose is to positively impact an important issue or problem on campus. Top projects are published as part of the PTK’s Change Makers Journal of Student Leadership.
