Ferdinando Castro Gonzalez, a student at Dallas College in Texas, has received the TEK Productions Scholarship of $500 from TEK Productions and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The TEK Productions Scholarships recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members who are majoring in fields leading to careers in production and/or event management in an associate, certificate, or bachelor’s degree program.
As an international student from Venezuela, Ferdinando is fascinated with how human interaction shapes our world. He serves as the Logistics Chair for the Hospitality, Exhibitions, and Event Management Club on his college campus, as well as Vice President for The Sustainable Age Student Journal and President of his local Phi Theta Kappa chapter.
Ferdinando believes the best way to learn how to lead is through engagement with one’s community. To that end, he has been active with more than 10 campus organizations, adding close to 2,000 recorded hours of community service this past year. He plans to continue his education at Texas A&M University to obtain his baccalaureate degree in Event Planning.
