Marie Febrillet, a student at Passaic County Community College in New Jersey, has received the TEK Productions Scholarship of $500 from TEK Productions and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The TEK Productions Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members who are majoring in fields leading to careers in production and/or event management in an associate, certificate, or bachelor’s degree program.
Growing up around event production, Febrillet finds the production field “magical.” As a first-generation college student, she currently serves on her Phi Theta Kappa leadership team as President of the Middle States Region. Within her leadership role, she has created visual content for her local chapter activities as well as for regional events.
When she’s not volunteering her time with her PTK chapter, Febrillet serves on the New Jersey Governor’s Student Success Group, which has led her to work directly with the New Jersey Council of County Colleges to improve success at community colleges. She plans to continue her education at Stanford University with the intent of studying Communication and Production.
TEK is an Orlando, Florida-based event production company that provides creative, technical, and management support for live events throughout the world. The team has produced Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, since 2010.
