Five community college students have been elected to represent their peers as Phi Theta Kappa International Officers for the 2020-2021 academic year.

This is the highest position of leadership available for a PTK member. The students were elected by their peers during PTK Catalyst 2020, the Society’s annual convention, held virtually April 16-17. They will represent more than 240,000 active Phi Theta Kappa members.

“These students are among the nation’s top community college students,” said PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner. “During their year of service, officers serve as representatives of the larger student population, but also participate in intensive personal, professional, and leadership development training. Being elected is a tremendous honor.”

PTK’s International Officer program is a leadership development experience like none other. As a group, the officer team works together to impact the mission, strategic plan, and vision of the organization; and team members provide professional development to members at local, regional, and international events.

Individually, each officer is given personal and professional development opportunities to promote success in their next steps in life — whether they are transferring to a four-year college or university or entering directly into the workforce. One officer will be selected to serve a one-year term on the Phi Theta Kappa Board of Directors.
