American Medical Student Association Scholarship

Purpose: The AMSA Pre-Med Transfer Scholarship is designed to help Phi Theta Kappa members achieve their career goals in medicine.

PTK and AMSA share missions to develop student leaders and promote self-efficacy. AMSA bolsters medical education in ways that support professional and personal growth.

Award: $5,000

Eligibility:

• Be currently enrolled in 6 or more semester credits of associate degree, college-level coursework through 12/31.
• Completed 45 or more semester credits by 12/31.
• 3.50 or higher GPA on coursework completed in the last 5 years.
• Enrolled in pre-med (or related) program at the two-year college.
• Plan to transfer to a regionally accredited four-year college and attend full-time.
• Intend to enroll in medical school.
• PTK member in good standing.
• Academic record free from suspension, probation, or other disciplinary actions.
• Hold temporary or permanent residency in the country of the college the student attends or possess a visa considered appropriate by the college. Find details here.
