Awareness Week Day 4 (and Day 3 Reflection)!
I hope that you learned all about running for International Office yesterday during #LeadershipWednesday! I can say that running for IO was one of the greatest experiences of my life thus far and has opened so many doors for me now! If you’re ...thinking about running, do it! Try it! I had such an amazing time as a candidate that I would do the process again if I could!
But back to Day 4, #ServiceThursday! The photo you see here was taken in January 2022 from my first ever HIA project, which was all about the Community College stigma! This project researched the social idea that community colleges were inferior to a four-year education and worked to advocate for the truth, the community colleges are #CCsmart! This project, was the basis for advocacy-centered learning. As I start my Honors Thesis here at Ole Miss, I feel more prepared knowing I’ve done heavy-hitting research like the Honors-in-Action (HIA) Project!

Today is Service Thursday! Let's hear from International President Annalise Smith on her favorite service project.
"For Clark State College’s 2023’s College Project, I had the privilege of running an initiative coined “Love Letters to Ourselves”. Often times, ...it’s the little things people hate about themselves that we love so dearly. But, we sometimes forget, all the things we hate so deeply about ourselves are beautiful to the ones who love us.
During the multiple sessions I was so lucky to be able to facilitate, participants were encouraged to view themselves in the eyes of someone who loves them. We wanted to promote an abstract level of self love while drawing to the importance of mental health.
Through the College Project, you have the chance to create a service initiative that makes a difference. Not only was I able to witness the slightest, but greatly powerful shift in the mental health narrative, but I also felt the difference that it made within myself. I will always hold “Love Letters to Ourselves” dearly and am encouraging you to take a step to practice being a servant leader- it might just change your life like it did mine." -Annalise Smith
