Welcome to the information page for the Alpha Omega Mu Chapter at Irvine Valley College, Main Campus! Joining the Alpha Omega Mu Chapter means becoming a part of a powerful community of diverse college students dedicated to making their own futures through service and leadership. The Alpha Omega Mu Chapter, established in 1994, is home to over 1,915 members and alumni, all committed to making a lasting impact through leadership, service, and academic excellence.

The chapter leaders at the Alpha Omega Mu Chapter have been working on service and research projects both on campus and in the community. Here are a few of their recent projects:

  • Unlocking the Past: Can Childhood Video Games Improve Mental Health in College Students by Evoking Nostalgia? Investigating the retroactive potential of nostalgia as an effective stress mitigation for college students through the medium of childhood video game play.
  • The Need for More Access in Open-Access Institutions: Understanding the Equity Gaps and Intersectional Experiences of Community College Students with Disabilities.
  • PTK Leadership Summit: Learn to L.E.A.D.

Scholarships

Members of the Alpha Omega Mu Chapter who aspire to receive a bachelor's degree have access to millions of dollars in transfer scholarships from PTK's four-year partners--these awards provide significant savings towards tuition at over 800 four-year colleges and universities. Also, $156,000 has been awarded in competitive scholarships from PTK's Foundation in recent years. These scholarships help ease the financial burden of college, enabling members to focus on their studies and future careers.
